Film Posters And Trailers - Frozen

Image
Film Po ster Key concepts and themes of the movie are displayed in both the trailer and poster. The scenery of ice is constantly shown in both ways of marketing. The theme of ice is in synergy with the title "frozen". The way the word frozen is written in novelty font seems to look like it is carved by ice yet remaining magical, like Disney, at the same time. The fact that reindeer is running in the poster suggests that the movie is mainly fast pased. This is likely to attract a young audience as too much meaning and over compicating a movie is unappeling to a young audience. There are two girls but also 3 male characters, this mix of genre on the poster suggests a less girly movie, which is somewhat largerly what disney is about. The gender mix helps to appel to a male audience who want to see fast adverntourous stories.(the trialer suggests a fast story). The main character is shown on the left side of the poster. The way she is looking at the camera sugges

Film Institutions: Frozen case study

Image
Disney's Frozen The film that I have chosen is Disney's Frozen. The reason I wanted to do Frozen was because it had an organisation like Disney behind it, a huge release and was really talked about. Institutional background The production companies behind frozen were Walt Disney Animation Studios Walt Disney Pictures. The Distributor of the film, in the UK, was Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures. B rand loyalty The film's genre is an animated fantasy-comedy.You can tell the film fits into this genre by the trailer. In the trailer we can see a funny animated character, odd stunts, large open spaces and adventure. Few of the main features in an animated codedy film. In the trailler We see jokes, different yet funny characters, unrelistic character (the snowman) and the life tretining experience. The movie is an orginial but because of the fact that it is a diseny film it is most likely to have a large audience that will watch the film no matter wha

Analysing Genre

Image
Hunger Games Mockingjay  Genre:  Science Fiction Narrative:  The storyline is shown in a way that if you watch the hunger games you are more likely to understand and connect however anyone can understand the main concept even if you don't.We can see the main theme of a sort of war going on between two sides. This narrative is tense, dramatic and futuristic which fits the science fiction genre very well. Character: The characters are the typical ones used in nearly all Science Fiction movies. Main character who is strong, different and heroic. The other main character who is also strong and helps the main character through all sorts of hell and the sad helpless side, who is the rest of district 12 in this case. Iconography: These are the things like; the airship, futuristic technology, the main mission, weapons, odd weather, flashing lights, destruction etc. All of these are typical for a sci-fi movie. Setting: In the short time the trailer is played, we can un

Camera Shots

Image
We were set the task to go and take photos showing a story line. We needed to take 7 different types of shots and needed 10 pictures overall to show the story line. The story line we chose to show was of a person wating on top of the stairs,at a school, for another person who was going to meet up with them and sell them drugs. These are the 3 different shots we used and why we did them as well as the affect they have on the viewer. Shot One; Birds eye view - This shot was taken like this to express the idea of someone(person 2)  waiting for another person(person 1) and seeing them come into view. This shows that person 2 is already at the destination and is looking down on person 1 who is currently making their way to the destination. The distance between the characters is expressed through this spacing difference and shows how egerly person two is waiting for person one to reach the destination. Shot Two ;  Over the shoulder shot - This shot is used to show th

Learner Response; Summer Project

Mr Matthew's Response WWW: Outstanding detail given to the content of the news programme and the stories within it. EBI: you really pushed yourself to say something about the potential political leanings of each news programme. LR: Find out if the news programmes you saw are likely to present the news in a certain way (research their political bias) - post the results and see if it makes the order of the stories they published any more interesting. Learner Response Most news channels are likely to have certain bias political views, if there aren't a lot there is almost a guarantee for at least a little. I strongly believe this as, due to our human nature, everyone has their own views in certain areas so when the reporters develop a story they may just be bias, be that consciously or unconsciously. BBC Reporters are all said to have bias political views influencing their decisions and reporting techniques. These statements are strongly supported but also con

Shots Analysis

Image
Shot One What we can see in the shot is a Medium close up. The shot shows us the police all in one shot which helps to elaborate on how many officers are there and as it's a close up they help to show us how they are feeling and how important this chase is for them. What we can infer from the pictures close up is that the police are very serious about their case as they maybe losing their target and can foresee the negative effect or conclusion that may occur because of their target getting away. The way they're structured whilst standing may help the audience understand that the case is very important for the police and how much training they may have had to do with this situation. Shot Two This is an establishing shot. In the shot we can see a broken down old car which can cause the audience see what maybe being foreshadowed with a negative background. The broken and eerie layout makes the viewer tense up a little as the are wondering what may be coming within

Autumn

Image
Autumn paint palette  Shown above is my autumn paint palette which is a selection of colours I personally believed to represent autumn. To me the colours of autumn are the dark reds, oranges and greens.  Fruit bowl This is the fruit bowl I made with lots of different autumn pictures(in my view). The way I made this is by using the magic wand tool and using paste special to paste it into place. I enjoyed making it due to the fact I love autumn so much and the picture had a few of the different aspect of autumn that I love. I chose the whole autumn theme due to the fact it is my absolute favourite season. I love the way the leaves begin to fall as they redden, I love how the days begin to get cooler. The way you can now wear those oversize hoodies and jumpers and drink hot chocolate from your favourite mug has the best feeling. Hence why I done the theme using the pictures and colours I felt where my idea of autumn.

Lynxs Advert

Image
LYNXS ADVERT Language; The language used is short and simple making it easier for the audience to understand what the product is mainly about; it also is reflecting the spray, small and strong. The sense of strong is created by the slogan using the word "power" which is interfered with also being strong. The sense of small is created through the spray bottle being shown gripped by a hand making it easier to compare the size much easier for the audience. The hand which is holding the spray also has light coming from behind it which gives it the sense of power which goes in hand with being strong(which the product is) The white writing on the black background gives a sense of simplicity and boldness which reflects to the audience that the product is also simple and bold. Institution; The company behind the product is lynx, a worldwide recognised brand, where the product logo is visible very clearly which helps to highlight the product. The institution only makes spray,

Interpretations of home What we had to do in this task was make an advertising poster to show how different people see different things.  What I chose to do was pick the word "home" as I knew people would have a different definition of home. I kept this word the same and tried to pick three different pictures which could represent what people may see as "home" In the first picture there is a living area with a television. The reason I picked this picture was people would typically associate the word "home" as a room from their house where they spend a lot of their time. The second picture is of someone hugging someone they love looking over the scenery. What this represents is that "home", to some people, is just in the arms of someone you love no matter where you are. The third picture is of a poor family in a place they live. The conditions of the place aren't very good yet they still may see it as "home" as peopl

News stories- Blog post

1) What were the five stories your group chose to broadcast? Greenford news story: Three men convicted of taking a body from a grave and putting it in their bedroom.  National news story: Women gives birth to a baby girl outside Primark in Birmingham.  London news story: Death of Tommy Main is unexplained after he has been said to have taken part in a online punch game.  Sports news story:  Belgium win 2-1 against USA  Funny news story: Miley Cyrus says Birmingham is the sluttiest city in the world.  2) For each story above, explain WHY you chose that particular story and not something else. Why would it interest a Greenford audience?  Greenford news story: We chose this story because it was really different and odd as of why someone would do this and its also happened in the area so because its local the people within the area would want to know more.  National news story: We chose this story because it was just different compared to other stories happening ne

Textual Analysis

Hunger games trailer; Genre : The genre of this clip is an action/romantic movie. We can conclude this due to there being action going on (obviously) and a bit of love (again its obvious)  Audience : The audience of this movie seem to be older teen-young adult females. This is because this type of romantic/action films often appeal to younger teens and the romantic side to it appeals to females. However due to the action side of the movie it may also appeal to a few older teen-young adult males too. Roughly about 70% female and 30% male.  Platform : The platforms this can be watched on can vary a lot due to the advances in technology. Typically movies can be watched in the cinema and then later on TV. However this can also be seen on laptops, computer and tablets due to websites such as Netflix.  Justin Bieber all around the world (music video);  Genre : This is a pop music video, which is more stage performance. Due to the fact that is mainly on stage(i state

I hope to achieve at least a B/A grade.  What was the last TV programme or film you watched? The last movie I watched was the Hunger Games for the second time. Why do you think that TV programme or film appealed to an audience? I personally believe it appealed to an audience because it was both action and romance, but neither was over done so it appealed to people who like one or the other or both. What technology have you used to access the media in the last 24 hours
